  • Ask for judgment: โ€œCan you walk to the Bahamas?โ€

๐Ÿ“‹ Note:

  • Patient is awake, alert, calm, cooperative.
  • Posture, dress, grooming, and hygiene appropriate.
  • Facial expression appropriate.
  • No excessive movements. Coordinated, relaxed.
  • Thought process logical, answers questions correctly.

๐Ÿ“‹ Ask about any history of osteoarthritis or joint disease.

๐Ÿฉบ TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint)

๐Ÿ“‹ ROM: open and close jaw, move side-to-side, protrusion, and retracciรณn. No abnormal masses, swelling, or temperature changes noted.

๐Ÿฉบ Spine/Spinous Processes

๐Ÿ“‹ Palpate from cervical spine to C7. No tenderness, deformity, or abnormalities.

๐Ÿฉบ Neck ROM & Strength

๐Ÿ“‹ Flexion (look down), extension (look up), lateral rotation (side to side), lateral flexion (ear to shoulder). Resistance against hand intact.

๐Ÿฉบ Shoulders

โ€œelevationโ€ and โ€œdepressionโ€ Moving shoulders upward and downward.

๐Ÿ“‹ ROM: extension, flexion, hyperflexion, internal rotation, external rotation, abduction, and adduction. Strength intact against resistance. Palpation shows no swelling or tenderness.

Circumduction movements

๐Ÿฉบ Wrists & Hands

๐Ÿ“‹ Extend both arms forward. Perform pronation and supination. Open and close hands. Flex and extend wrists, then flex and extend fingers. Perform ulnar and radial deviation.

๐Ÿ“‹ Strength testing intact against resistance of fingers and thumb.

๐Ÿ“‹Palpation of wrists, knuckles, and fingers shows no swelling or abnormalities. (use only two fingers when palpating fingers, use thumb and index)

๐Ÿฉบ Arms/Elbows

๐Ÿ“‹ Flex and extend elbows.

๐Ÿ“‹ Strength testing intact against resistance for biceps (flexion) and triceps (extension).

๐Ÿ“‹ Palpate elbow.

๐Ÿฉบ Hips

(supine)

๐Ÿ“‹ Palpated lateral hips, no tenderness. ROM: flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, internal rotation, external rotation. Resistance intact.

๐Ÿฉบ Legs

Standing

๐Ÿ“‹Pt hold to the side of bed: Flex and extend leg. Both legs.

๐Ÿฉบ Spine & Posture (standing)

๐Ÿ“‹ Spine symmetrical. Shoulders, scapula, and hips aligned. Normal cervical, thoracic, and lumbar curves. Side view shows natural curvatures. ๐Ÿ“‹On forward bend: no scoliosis; C-curve intact.

๐Ÿฉบ Spinal ROM

๐Ÿ“‹ Lateral bending, flexion, extension, and rotation performed without limitation.

๐Ÿฉบ Knees (Sitting)

๐Ÿ“‹ Palpated bilaterally, no swelling or tenderness. ROM: flexion, extension. Strength intact against push/pull resistance.

๐Ÿฉบ Feet & Ankles

๐Ÿ“‹ Palpated all bones to toes (feet, ankle). ROM: dorsiflexion, plantarflexion, inversion, eversion. Resistance intact with push/pull. Toes move inward/outward against resistance.
