🧤 Donning (Putting On PPE)

Put your equipment on in this order to stay safe:

  1. Gown – Put it on first and tie it at the back.
  2. Mask or Respirator – Place it over your nose and mouth; secure it well.
  3. Goggles or Face Shield – Protects your eyes.
  4. Gloves – Put them on last, covering the cuff of the gown.

💡 Tip: Think “Gown → Mask → Goggles → Gloves” — from body to face to hands.

🧼 Doffing (Taking Off PPE)

Take your equipment off carefully so you don’t touch contaminated areas:

  1. Gloves – Remove first (they’re the dirtiest).
  2. Goggles or Face Shield – Take off touching only the strap or sides.
  3. Gown – Untie and pull away from your body, turning it inside out.
  4. Mask or Respirator – Remove last, touching only the straps.

💡 Tip: Think “Gloves → Goggles → Gown → Mask” — from dirtiest to cleanest.

🧴 Always:

  • Wash or sanitize your hands before and after donning and doffing.
  • If anything feels contaminated, change it right away.
